Introducing “My Pet Manster”

This creature is another in my ongoing series of illustrations utilizing the symmetrical ruler guide in Clip Studio Paint, that begin as abstract forms and gradually become more detailed after hours of rendering. My process for these illustrations has been to start in black and white to make sure I get the tones and shadows correct, and then filling in a lower layer of color. I have been considering doing a speed drawing video showing my process, like on my YouTube channel. Let me know if that’d be of interest to you.

You can probably tell that I am a product of the 80s and 90s myself, inspired by such toys as My Pet Monster, Masters of the Universe, and of course the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
