M. R. Kessell is a writer, illustrator, and musician with a penchant for the weird and macabre.

And smoothies.

He doesn’t usually talk about himself in the third person, but it sounds more official this way, so I’m just gonna stick with it. I mean him. He will stick with it.

Born and raised in New Jersey, he currently lives in New York City with his lovely wife and their large cat.

By day, he works as a project engineer in New York City’s architectural metals industry. By the late afternoon he needs nap. By the time he gets home he may possibly get around to drawing horror comics or painting book covers.

He has self-published IT CAME FROM THE BASEMENT an original illustrated book for monster kids of all ages and is currently working on a follow up.

He created an illustration that went slightly viral on social media a few years back titled THE RETURN OF PUMPKINSPICE.

In between all of that he puts art tutorials, animation and music out on his YouTube channel.

He would love to collaborate with other writers, artists or any creative folks if they need:

  • Book Covers
  • Comics
  • Creature Design
  • Portraits (Pets and Humans)
  • Political Cartoons
  • T-Shirts
  • Animation
  • Album Art
  • Spotify Canvas Animations

Fun Factz:

He absolutely can not be convinced that Puffins are real.

Loves cheesy movies despite his lactose intolerance.

Thinks he’s funny.
